okay i have a boosted beta in a 97 accent and i just had a 99 elantra 5 spd tranny put in (elantra is the same trans as a tiburon but when you buy them used they arent as beat as tiburon trannys) and i was wonder how different it will feel acceleration, top speed, on boost, ect so if anyone can offer any insight it be great ill post a deffinite update and some new pics of it monday sometime when its done
they are NOT the same transmission
elantra transmissions > tiburon transmision
longer gears
realize that (and this is just a IIRC) if you put a beta trans in your stock alpha axles will no longer work
if i was gonna go through the trouble id look around for a beta 2 elantra transmission (2003 model year is pretty strong with good gearing)

and thats where youre wrong the elantra NEEDS an adapter plate to bolt up ill post a part number on monday chairhit.gif it costs about 90 bucks.... so uhm whats the saying?!? oh yea owned and way to get off the posted topic i ask what the driving difference is
I can't wait to see what this plate is. The bolt pattern on the engine is the same, the bolt pattern on the bell housing.. would have to be the same. The trans is the same size. The only "adapter" anything ive heard of people having to use is if you want to run a 1.8 flywheel. The 1.8 doesn't have some ring thing where it bolts to the crank, you can find said adapter on the autos (ref Shadoh's trans swap). I believe it sits behind the flex plate.
as i said in the shout box...i mustve installed the 2001 transmission onto my 2000 elantra with pure effing magic
oh and the 98, 99, and 03 elantra transmissions i had on there also installed with said effing magic
elantra transmission has BETTER GEARING which is infact what you asked for
longer gears
lower rpms on the freeway
ALL YOUR OWNS BELONGS TO YOU

HERE IT IS IN ALL CAPS FOR EVERYINE WHOS HAVING A HARD TIME UNDERSTANDING THE 1-9-9-9 E-L-A-N-T-R-A TRANSMISSION WILL NOT FIT ON A 1999 TIBURON MOTOR WITHOUT AN ADAPTER
