Default Random revving and 3rd gear grind

I have the 03 v6 tib and i just recently got a stage 1 clutch and flywheel put in. ever since then though my rpms rev from 1000 to 3000 rpms when i'm stopped. sometimes it'll just idle normally, but alot of the time it revs up by itself whether i'm on the clutch while i'm stopped or i have it in neutral. anyone know what this is?

also everytime i shift into third gear it grinds a little. i bought it used about a year and a half ago and it's done that since i bought it. anyone else have this problem or know what it is/how to fix it? any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're confident that it's not a vacuum leak (my thoughts also) clean your throttle body and look to make sure that it's closing properly and that the butterfly valve seals well.

If that's fine, check your IAC.

Either way, more air than is supposed to is getting into the engine. That's either a vacuum leak somewhere, a poorly sealing TB butterfly, or an IAC issue.

buy a cigar (no you dont have to smoke it just fill your mouth with some smoke 2 seconds worth of smoking isnt going to get you addicted nor kill you)
blow smoke into a vacuum hose

if you see smoke popping out from somewhere

thats your leak
