Default My clutch needs to be replaced

Im in the market for a new clutch since mine is starting to slip a little. I drive pretty harshly but I only have light mods done to the car. Whats a good clutch to get that wont be hard to use in stop and go traffic? I dont plan on going turbo anytime soon so I need something that can handle naturally aspirated modifications and not give out as quickly as a stock clutch.

Unless you plan on significantly modifying your engine, get a stock replacement. Intake and exhaust work does NOT count as significant - I'm talking boring over and upgrading cams and such.

Valeo makes an OEM replacement clutch. They are cheap and are great for the money.

Yeah, I've gotten 142,000 miles on my stock clutch with I/H/E and it still isn't giving me any problems.

i put the valeo clutch in about a year age and it's starting to slip a little. maybe 30k on it. all I have is k&n cone filter and homemade axle back exhaust. I drive it like hell and I have a few passes at the drag strip on it from about 2 weeks after I put it in. I also tought the wife how to drive stick in that time... looking for alternatives or I might just start diving the rx7.

^ Welcome to the site.

First off...you should take it easy on a brand new clutch for the first thousand miles or so. It needs time to break in and wear properly. So by beating on it, and teaching someone to drive stick, and all that....on a brand new clutch is going to greatly kill the reliability and how long it lasts.

my two cents on the clutch, get rid of the spring in the slave cylinder unless you really need it to help you slip your clutch. It is sitting just behind the banjo fitting and is a 10-15min job at most. You will need a buddy to help bleed it afterward, easy stuff.

the other..

A GREAT stock replacement for someone who is near stock but drives like an asshat. ACT w/ the organic disc. It will run you more than the OEM valeo units, but that thing has put up with my nutcase driving and is still doing great *knock on wood*
