How many of you think you could still some how drive a M/T car? I would have to reach over myself with my left arm and shift gently. It would be awkward, but I think I could do it. I wouldnt be able to shift very fast or drive like I stole it, but I could definitely do it if in a pinch and needed to go somewhere.

Could do it. It's awkward but it can be amazing what you can learn to do if really needed.

I'm sure I could do it. But yeah, like you guys said...it would be awkward and take a few tries to get to used to.

I have done it before, when I am eating or carrying something, its not difficult, but obviously you aren't as quick as your used to.

i've done it with a broke hand. my hand and arm where in a cast almost to my elbow. it wasnt that hard to shift. the cast had a kickout to allow my fingers to remain at rest. I used this to pull back (1to2, 3to4 etc) to shift up i would push with the top of my wrist (2to3, 3to5 etc).

of ourse if my elbow had been wrapped as well im not sure how I would shift.

Robert Kubica did it this time last year (F1 driver) and destroyed his whole career. Infact, he shattered it and his arm was hanging by his skin and underwent reconstructive surgery. It was the third time his right arm had been shattered, the last time being almost declared amputated.

4-5 months after accident:

Last month testing his Skoda Fabia WRC:

But that's with professional rehabilitation, 7 days/week 365/year.

I would have no problem shifting, I don't know what you guys are complaining about?

Been there, got that t shirt. It's not bad unless you were in some kind of full arm cast that covered your elbow.
