Default has anyone successfully changed the gearing in their car?

Ive read that an Elantra transmission has higher gearing than the tibs and is better matched up to our cars. Wondering if anyone has changed the gearing in their tib tranny's to anything better.

Some people have played with the gearing, but with the exception of 5th gear it is easier to swap the entire transmission.

I have the 02 Elantra tranny in my Tib. There's not much difference other than 5th gear. You drop about 250-500rpms when cruising. That to me was worth it since the car was sitting at 4krpms at 80mph, which I do almost every day. Irritating.....
