We've got the Fidanza Flywheel installed in Jaws021's new Beta2 motor running on a gen1 Tranny. It works rather well. Were still breaking in the motor, so no real power reports just yet. But the car will be dyno'd once the motor is broken in.

It shouldn't affect peak HP though correct, it will just give the car a better run in a lower gear, then in a higher gear.

Or am I mistaken? I mean on the road, hell yeah, you should feel a big difference, but as the gears go higher, the effect is less and less...

My call is significant better performance in 1st, 2nd... but the same peak HP or perhaps 1-2 ponies difference, due to more torque available to the road in the lower gears..

Time will tell,

-Steve

P.S. I was thinking about this mod too...

It is currently available from
NO LIMIT Motorsports Phone: 631-363-8659 (ask for Rob)
For $320. Mention that you are looking for the Fidanza flywheel that you saw on www.groupbuycenter.com

It will fit on the beta1 engine, but will require a 3mm spacer. It worked on Jaws021's application without a spacer because he used a beta2 engine.

The effect will be greater in the lower gears that the higher gears, but I would still expect at least a 5 WHP difference in 3rd gear.

All this talk about fitting the Fidanza flywheel on a Beta1 2.0 vs. Beta2 2.0l... What about us 1st Gen 1.8l owners? I have a '97 Rev A. 1.8l, Random.. I have no idea whether or not i have a 5 bolt or 6 bolt pattern to fit on my crank. As a matter of fact, i saw someone posted earlier on this thread that the flywheel fits 99+ tibbies. Doesn't the 1st gen model year include 97-99, meaning it has a BETA1 spec 2.0l? I'm looking for a flywheel but is it going to work for my 1.8l and everyone else's????
