eclipse gst/gsx clutch
i know that we share some of the g2 eclipse/4g63t engineering in the beta engines, but how much? would a clutch for this engine bolt up the flywheel/crank for a g2 beta? just curious, as i'll be going turbo soon and and researching clutches now. when i was doing the swap, i found out that we share the same clutch alignment tool. i realize this means about nothing when compared with the bolt and thread pattern needed for the clutch to bolt up to the crank, but i think it's worth throwing in there. smile.gif

sorry the DSM clutch won't fit,
our pressure plate are a "pull" type, wich means that when you press on the clutch pedal the slave cylinder will pull on the pressure plate diaphrag
on the DSM when you push on the pedal the slave cylinder will push on the pressure plate diaphrag
the mounting of the pressure plate to the flywheel is completely different
The disc it self might fit if it's the same size and uses the same splines
cluthc master,Spec,Key motorsports have clutch ready for us ACT is developping one

ya, i know of the clutches available and of the act clutch in progress. i was just curious of the eclipse clutch. i figured it wouldn't work, or others would have tried it, but there's no harm in asking. smile.gif

The 1.6 Beta has a "push" type clutch. smile.gif

the accent also use the push type clutch
i didn't say you couldn't convert to a push type clutch, but what's the point to convert it when we already have a couple of options for good bolt on clutches?

install the beta gears in the alpha case?
why for? to get the push type? why not just convert the fork and slave cylinder,it might be much "easier" then trying to fit the gears in the alpha case
looks like i missed the alpha part of your post...

woooo you mean swap the whole tranny or swap thre tibby gears in the alpha tranny?
even swapping the complete tranny isn't logical or money wise....
you're going to buy a new clutch, a tranny, halfshafts, shjifter linkage, slave cylinder, fork,
instead of just buying a bolt on clutch?
sure if you want a bit more acceleration it might be worth it, but why not use the older 1.8 tranny then or buy a new final drive?
BTW, the original question in this post was about if yes or no the DSM clutch would fit
