Double clutching; is it necessary?

There are SO many videos on YouTube about "double clutching" like a mad tyte rac3r y0 and it boggles my mind. Are there ANY positives from it?
Personally if I shift down and want to rev match, as I shift down, I blip the throttle. That's it.

Okay, I do it for the sake of having better foot skills. Then if I DO need to drive a car with a crashbox, it won't be an issue. It is still good for the transmissions, it just means that you aren't wearing out your synchros.
Rev matching is fine though, that is all you need to do for smoothness.
