Default Double clutching; is it necessary?

There are SO many videos on YouTube about "double clutching" like a mad tyte rac3r y0 and it boggles my mind. Are there ANY positives from it?

Personally if I shift down and want to rev match, as I shift down, I blip the throttle. That's it.

honestly I used to do it all the time in the elantra and accent... not so much in the MS3 but It doesn't hurt to do it.

No benefit unless you like slower shifts. Or have no synchro gears.

Okay, I do it for the sake of having better foot skills. Then if I DO need to drive a car with a crashbox, it won't be an issue. It is still good for the transmissions, it just means that you aren't wearing out your synchros.

Rev matching is fine though, that is all you need to do for smoothness.
