Red!!
Isn't it true that a lightened Flywheel is not beneficial for a Turbo charged or Forced Induction car?
Reason being the Turbo wouldnt spool up to its max Capacity since the Flywheel is lightened?
I could be wrong!!!!!!!

That was the common thinking beforehand, but that theory has been proven wrong several times now. The lightened flywheel doesn't put as much load on the engine, which was the theory as to why a lighter flywheel would make the turbo spool slower. Less load = less exhaust gas = less turbo spin.

The problem with that theory is that it only focuses on load detrimentally impacting exhaust gas. But in reality, the lack of load means the engine spins easier and accelerates faster. The net result is, yes the turbo doesn't spool as fast IF you're just free-reving it.

But if you're actually in gear and moving, the turbo spools even faster and you make overall more power and get more response because of the less total load on the engine and faster engine acceleration.

The center starts bulging out as you torque down the flywheel bolts.
