So thats what that crunchy feeling is, I though it was my shifter. I just ordered a BM Short Shifter because of it! Oh, well.

I use Amsoil synthetic gear lube in my trans. The weight is 75w90. The oil is rated GL2 thru GL5.

The problem gotting into forst and reverse is not caused by the synchro gears, because there aren't any in first or reverse. as for the Forst to second problem, I too tried new synthetic fluid that helped for a while, but the problem is now so bad that I am going to the dealer. Hopefull the fix the problem quickly.

first gear is rought getting into at a standstill as well sometimes, i have a worse problem with reverse, it literally wont pop into place unless i tap the gas a little. its a very uncomfortable feeling when i find myself doing this. but since i dont use reverse when i race i dont like to worry about it.
hyundai shop will keep it for a week before they even look at it if i take it in, then itll slide into reverse perfectly when they do look at it. machines always work like that!
