Default 2003 tib 6 speed a SE-R tranny.

i was just reading up in the january SPORT COMPACT CAR, and it mentioned the the 6 speed tranny in the 2003 tiburon is a nissan SE-R spec-v's gearbox. i just thought it was intresting and thought id share.

I know the rumor started because both transmissions are made form AICHI. As for them being similar? I doubt it.

Belling housing and gear ratios should be different.

Now it could be possible if they have a LSD for the SE-R it would work in the Tib.

I woudl check the phantom grip LSD. IF they use the same partnumber for both cars. Then they are the same diffs.

But to be honest. I hear alot of trash about the 6spd having 3rd gear syncro problems and some others.

No I wonder. do SE-R have the same problem? Are the giving hyundai a ****ty quality cause it hyundai? Or is hyundai having them make a less quiality transmission comapred to what they make for nissan?

checking the phantom grip part number wouldnt do much good as they are pretty universal units.... id check flywheel sizez and teeth

No, from what I see, the Phantom Grip sitll makes kits for certian cars.

They have a part numebr for a Honda Civic kit, and a Hyundia Tiburon kit.
