Hey all, I can feel and hear some vibration when accelerating. It sounds like its coming from the wheels, perhaps the driver side. It doesn't shake the stearing wheel, but I can hear and feel the slight shaking.

The last time I experienced a similar problem on my other vehicle (Eclipse) it ended up being bent rims. I will check the rims this Saturday, does anyone have any other suggestions of what it may be? thanks for looking.

BTW this is for my new Tibby - owned it for 4 days.

Knowing the Tib like I do, after having it for 7 years, I would go with wheel bearing.

I will start with the simplest least expensive things first, like a wheel balancing.

Is there a way to check for a bad wheel bearing?

jack the car up, and if you can move the tire in & out with play then your bearing is bad.

Wheel bearings humm when they go bad as well. First at high speeds then as they get worse they hum at lower speeds. If you can move your tires, its either a ball joint or tie rod.

what's odd is the car seems to drive pretty smooth for the most part. I feel no vibration on the steering wheel. I still feel it may be something minor, but have not ruled anything out.

Congrats on the Tib.

Even low air pressure in the tire can cause it to shake/wobble/veer to the side. Check everything suggested above.

Does it do it at all speeds, or only 35+ / 50+ ? Does it change if you're pressing the brake/accelerator?

I had this happen to me, and it ended up being a broken wheel stud. It could be a number of different things associated with your wheels.

I would take the wheel off and put it back on. It might just not have tight lug nuts. Are they factory or aftermarket wheels?
