yeah, i got into an accident today.

stop and go traffic on the 290, and the girl in front of me i guessed sneezed at the wrong time, and slammed on her brakes and stopped just in time so she didn't hit the car in front of her. but by the time i saw here brake lights on and slammed on them i rear ended her. Only damage to her's was her rear bumper driver side clips broke...she had a 98 dodge something...(family car)

now, based on these [night] pictures of it, do you think it's gonna be totaled (i find out tomorrow). and luckily i had complete collision on it too. but what really sucks is i just paid off the loan (6800$) less then a month ago.

Driver Side again, see under hood:

Front of car (top is the hood, bottom is the front bumper, this is a straight down shot):

and unfortionately, as much as i liked the tib, if it's totaled i probably wont get another.

Looks okay to me.

I think you can:

replace the hood

right fender

radiator

front bumper

right headlight assembly

AC condensor

and some little related stuff

i'm going to see what the insurance company says about me buying it back. because i wouldnt mind parting it out. the engine has a little under 78k miles on it, the transmission (5speed) was just rebuilt under 10,000 miles ago, and i do have the ebay aem cai, and the optoma is coming out, that's mine.

what really sucks, is i just purchased the 1.8l cam from alextib, and i spent 255$ on the rotopro's dimpled/slotted rotors, coated in black zinc, with the low dust performance pads. those are sitting in my room still brand new in the box. I'm so f***ing pissed. i've been going broke for the past 2 months to be able to get this stuff for my car, and now i have a feeling they're completely pointless and a waste of my money.

but i'm fine. my knees hurt a little but nothing major. and around 2 hours after, walking around work (didnt work, but stopped in) i started to get dizzy, and felt like i was going to throw up. but i just ate and seem to be doing fine. ill let ya know tomorrow wink1.gif

I don't think it will be totalled. At least the main thing is that no-one was hurt.

sorry to hear that man... any way you could shrink your photos?

other than that, hope at least insurance covers it. it looks like a hefty fix, close to $2,000 worth of damage.

My buddy had the similar damage to his 98 tib except, his windshield shattered as well. The car wasn't totaled because it could be fixed, (estimate $7500). However, the estimate exceeded the value of the car ($~3500-4000) so, it was declared totaled.

^^^^^^
I was just about to say the same thing. The reason i bought my tib was because last august i got into a similar accident, not a rear end of a car though mine was between a guard rail and my car, and my car had similar damage to yours. The mechanic estimated it at about $4500 of work which wasn't bad in my mind because i was gonna put all aftermarket items on that would equal out to that much anyway but the insurance company said it wasn't worth that much money to fix, so they handed me a $9000 check. Considering i only paid $7500 for the car in the first place I thought it was a fair trade since they took into account all of the upgrades i had made as well as my wheels and paint job.

that's kind of similar to what happen to me and as long as it didn't affect the frame it's fine. it's going to cost you a pretty penny to get it fixed. mine's acutually not as bad as your's and it's costing me $2100. to get it fixed.

to me looks like a new

radiator support
front bumper
ac condesor
r h/l
r c/l
r fender.
