Figured I would vent. On the way home from work yesterday I was driving down rt29 and all of a sudden I see a car vear to the left shoulder with smoke coming out of it. Next thing I know there is a full exhaust (cat and back) laying in the road in front of me. I could not get out of the way but managed to get the front passenger tire to hit the piping and not the muffler or a flange. Well anyway thank god nothing was damaged on the car becides a small scrap on the bottom of the bumper (cant see it unless you are under the car). The tires and all are fine. Anyone have something like this happen?

It's good thing you didn't get into an accident or have any serious damage to your car.

29 sucks man. now you see what i have to deal with every damn day. there are so many potholes, and construction on 29 i just stopped driving on it.

why do ya think we get so much traffic in MD? because people don't know how to damn drive. one car can cause an entire jam. people slow down for turns on the beltway to like 40mph, what a cow. nobody lets you in, nobody lets you out, nobody thanks or is thankful. everybody cuts you off. it's not worth it getting revenge because it's going to keep happening everyday.

all i have to say is... don't be too shocked by the incident and don't let it get you down because MD will do your car in good. if it's not the crazy people, it's door dings, tree dents, stone chips from trucks, more door dings, and paint chips.

you know what? just do your best to avoid these things, avoid the most hazardous routes, avoid having to take unnecessary trips, tailgating, or following the traffic. sometimes i just drive a little faster away from traffic because i just don't trust them.

Ironically since I have owned the car (2 years) I have had my windshield replaced going on 5 times now, the passenger side of the car repainted twice due to minivans and idiot kids opening their door into my car, and my poor hood......... My hood looks like I drive through gravel roads behind a lawnmower. Plain and simple MD and most of its drivers suck!

how close do you follow cars?

i was on a one way "highway one time. speed limit was 50, me and an oncoming truck were going prolly about 60. about 50 feet away from me, a ladder flew off the top of his truck into my lane. i had to swerve to miss it at 60 mph. pretty scary.

Usually 3-4 car lengths. On a bad day 2-3.

Sorry to hear that man. Keep more distance between the cars, especially on the highway!

Yeah I know been told that a few times. You just get so used to driving 75-80 all of the time the whole second thing kinda goes out the window. Ends up more like 2-3 car lengths if that and if you drive around here you would know that 2-3 car lengths is a lot more than most of these crazy people give you! I was originally looking at a CF hood but after looking over the damage to my hood while I was waxing there is no way I am shelling out that much cash to have it beat to hell. Anyways thanks for the coments.
