Alright, so we're always sending people to the search function here, but I've got to be honest, it sucks. Any attempt to search for multiple terms that dont follow one after the other (which allows quotes) is impossible to do, because you'll get results for each term seperately. Is there a google search plugin for vbulletin somewhere? Honestly I end up doing a site:rdtiburon.com search in google half the time just because I get better results.
Also, I know about the + modifier, but the search still doesn't find results that well.

I agree. You need to use the really advanced search to do pretty much anything on the site.
I finally found out how to get the advanced search up since the software update. If you click more search options under the search box at the top, then you click "more options" it comes up with the old search window
is there a way we can get the old search window to pop up when we hit more search options?

The search box should be renamed "quick search" like it used to be. The search box does not search older posts. you will get MANY more results from using advanced search.

I've found it frequently searches for things in people's signatures too... So if what you're searching for happens to be in someone's signature, every thread that they've ever posted in will show up. That's ridiculous.
And what's with the + modifier?? I'd much prefer it if that was standard, like EVERY other website I've searched in.
I used to find pretty much whatever I was after before this 'upgrade', now I do a simple search and get either "no matches found" or 25 pages of results. That totally defeats the purpose of searching.
And I still don't get that 3 character limit, so much of what I search for is under three characters, searching for those is impossible. And searching for anything with 1.8 or 1.8L in it is now impossible.
Please help!!

well for the last two days its done this to me
You searched for: ecu
Unfortunately your search didn't return any results.
Try broadening the search parameters by searching by different keywords or altering the format of your search.
Remember to use the wildcard '*' to increase the number of matches. Apple* will match 'apple' and 'apples'
i dont know if its my computer or what...
no matter what i search for i get the same message.. whats up with that

for some reason I believe the search feature has a minimum requirement of 4 characters.
"Car" will not work
Cars will.
Not sure how you could search for ECU, except +ECU +wiring. If you were to search for just "ECU" you'd get thousands of results, and they'd take forever to sift through.
