I've been posting under the name DrivingTibNaked for 6875 posts now. I would like to change my name to DTN.
I joined a long time ago and my name really didn't matter much to me. It was just a screen name that I had to select to join. I've wanted to change it for about 5,000 posts now, but I havn't asked because it might cause confusion. I really don't like my screen name and People call me DTN anyways. It's just not a serious name.
Here's my reasoning:
I had a vision like this; Two people arguing about something. It comes down to person A comes across a post on RDTiburon.com and validates his/her point. Person B says "What? You're going to trust a guy with a name like that?".
I am leaving the Army soon. I plan to work as a BioMedical Equipment Repairer when I get out. If I work as a representative for a manufacturer and travel, I can make upwards of $50,000 a year. If I work for a hospital/fixed facility I'm looking at a measly $25,000-$40,000/year, in which case, I could take a 2nd job in the automotive feild at one of the many places in my home town. Alot of my posts on this site will function as a resume. If I wish to work as a custom installer/electronics tech/performance tech, I've got excellent writeups which I could easily print up and slide into a resume file. Depending on the job, I'd probly include one or more of these DIYs as a part of my resume. But with a name like DrivingTibNaked, a potential employer would probly laugh at me.
Nitrous oxide: Nitrous Install ZEX
Stereo installer: Fiberglassing a speaker molding a stereo surround
Performance shop:Changing Struts changing torque mounts
Custom Car electronics: Dancing LEDs LED Conversion (which i've performed on several different vehicles) Silent Wirelooms DIY Angel eyes
Body work: ATH Roof mount spoiler
Last month, I sent a link to a buddy of mine at work on Link: HOW TO CLEAN YOUR CAR. He sent it to a bunch of other people and I spent the day explaining that I really didn't have a good reason for my username. When I joined the site I saw that alot of people had body kits and wings on their cars, I had a bone-stock tiburon with a 600W stereo system. My name dosn't even apply anymore. I should be DrivingTibClothed or something. But that would make as much sence as DrivingTibNaked.
In conclusion, would really like a name change to DTN. People already call me DTN, so it wouldn't effect daily operations on the site. It would be less embarissing for me to show my posts to my friends. I wouldn't have to deal with "why did you pick that name" every time someone finds out my online name. I hastily chose my old name when I joined. My old name no longer applies and I actually never drove my Tiburon naked. I wouldn't get mocked so much. It also sounds more serious.
So please admins, change my name to DTN, I beg you.
