I'm running the latest version of firefox for sure. It's developed on Linux and kicked back to Windows and Mac.

I just switched from Rich Text Editor to standard on my iPhone and it started working. I will test at home too.

Well standard editor works. Bi will switch back to rich text editor and test that tomorrow. Maybe this is the reason rich text is not default, it does this once in a while?

Nope. Regardless of skin, Full Screen Rich Text Editor does not work on Firefox or iPhone.

Visionz, can you peruse my database entries to find out if I have a misplaced setting or something? Like, in the database, delete * from UserSettings where username like 'DTN' or something to that effect which won't kill my whole account? Without rich text editor, I can't copy and paste from webtech.

This problem came on suddenly around the 19th-20th of June some time between 11pm and 11am. I went to reply on my iPhone and could not. There must be something wrong with my user account since this seems to affect only me and the problem crosses between the relatively common platforms of iPhone and Firefox. If you could please help me. I don't need the rich text editor, but it is very very useful for communicating information and I set it as default on every message board.

What the hell guys!?!?! Every one of you who said you tested, ACTUALLY did not test or are running an out of date firefox?

Apparently after searching, this is a common issue and affects ALL FIREFOX browsers when running in rich text mode.

It seems that the problem is the old IPB software is not compliant with the HTML standards. It's compliant with Internet Explorer. They fixed problems with firefox in 3.6 and it broke IPB. This is IPBs fault for not supporting the standards in the first place.'

Apparently upgrading the board will fix the problem, or at least upgrading the Rich Text Box.

I just updated my FireFox to 3.6.9 and am experiencing the same problems. Had you told us what version you were running, it would've made this a little quicker wink.gif

It's not just a missing cursor problem. I've quote my post below where I asked for a FF version, and I can't reposition the cursor anywhere. I can't use arrow keys or click anywhere else, so I have to type it out in order or backspace to where I want to type.

However, the Fast Reply works fine for me.

QUOTE (majik @ Sep 10 2010, 11:43 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'm at work - rich text works fine on IE8. I'm sure it works fine on FF, too, since my settings would carry over when I'm at home.
what version of FF are you running?

DO NOT UPGRADE TO FIREFOX 3.6.9
or you'll be restricted to only use the Fast Reply box.

Edit: Just tried FireFox 4 Beta and it's worse. You can't even type in the box, much less have a cursor.
