one thing to remember as well for these build threads...

say if i want to show my work, and host the the pics personally in my photobucket acct and 2 years later i move to another car...

oh i dont need these pics any more, i will delete them...

so in conclusion image hosting could be a problem as well, especially if it is a detail build like mad_john did or even tdonnell, cuz i was in mad_john's thread the other day and most of his pics are gone now

 

^^^ in some like this proposed subforum i would suggest that the pics be added per admin or moderators to a seperate account.

we have far too many DIY's that are years old and the pics are no more.

I would like to suggest that the cars being suggested would be cars already that have shown alot of work done to them in the general showroom and are voted on ...BY THE MEMBERS... not the staff.

if the car is sold, we simplify the original thread showing all work done and pics, not every comment like,"looking great, keep up the good work fing02.gif ", etc.


those are my suggestions.

 

I absolutely hate when I am looking at older threads and the pics are long gone. SUCK.

3rd party hosting of the pictures would definitely be a good idea, I always hate trying to look through old threads too. members voting them in wouldnt be bad either, it would provide a level of moderation without as much potential for partisanship
