<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (tibby01 @ Jun 13 2005, 11:54 PM)</div><div class='quotemain'>do we really want a bunch of maintenance DIYs though?

maybe we should split the DIY section into maintanence and modification DIYs?
<div align='right'><{POST_SNAPBACK}></div></div>
It's a DIY. DIY means DO IT YOURSELF. That means Modifications AND Maintenance.

How many RD2 guys have "lost" the headlight clip inside the houseing/down the bumper because they didn't know they could just MOVE the damn thing by uncliping one end? (vs REmoving it).
How many folks have never bled their brakes because they don't know how.
How many folks have never changed their gear oil/tranny fluid tranny filter because they don't know how.

Trust me the Maintenance DIY's are VERY needed. Just as much as the "mod" DIY's.

^ Nice, never thought of that.

It would be nice, we kinda have to start to take real good care of our cars as they will start to become few and far between later on.

I'm due for about 90% of those things you suggested Random. I just need the know how, and I'll post the DIY's.

oh, i have NOTHING at all against maintenance DIYs. i did one on replacing wheel studs, just to show people how easy it is. i was just making a remark on how much i think it would help people if we seperated the two. maybe ill make seperate modification and maintenance headings in the listing and move them to the perspective places.

FIY Fix It Yourself

MIY Make/Mod It Yourself

I think they would work out better if they were in separate sections. Easier seaching/browsing.

Another idea - Custom made mod of the month.
Mod that you did and that is unique.

As I seriously think that would be a good thing too, we pushing right now just to get a couple DIY's a month. When you really think about it, that is a mod a month from at least 2 members. Not too bad really, but then throw in another category and I'll bet we'll get less entries altogether.
