let's do it. Great idea. We need criteria to judge the diy's on and some basic rules tho.
here's a start:
must have pictures. (how many..I dunno?)
understandable steps
format:
tools needed section
approx. time needed
1,2,3,etc.
finished product/tips
CREATIVITY/USEFULNESS
The last one is to eliminate those who are not creative and decide to do a 3 pg. diy on changing the oil or windshield wiper fluid.
Also, should we just nominate like 5 Diy's out of the Diy section or just include every DIY added each month in the poll (there may be too many Diy's in one month for a poll). We need someone to organize the Diy's and start a thread each month (like on the first or something).

we should also eliminate repost from WebTech.
Also we should describe what is DIY, for example - if you weld your own intake manifold - will it be DIY?

As I somewhat agree with not wanting to duplicate webtech DIY's. Webtech can be off sometimes too. I'd suggest to just get as many DIY's on here we have a great list so far. But ones like taking your dash apart and things like that are FAQ's that we could prolly use.

Not a bad idea, but there is nowhere near enough submissions a month for this.
How about quarterly?

Id say, try it monthly. Give folks a REASON do do DIY's.
If it turns out folks aren't interested/not doing that many submissions, then move it back to quarterly.
To be honest, I don't see anything wrong with an "oil change" DIY. Don't laugh! We've got plenty of forum members that don't know how to do "the basics". Heck how many "how do I reset my ECU" questions/posts do you see? Just because it's basic, doesn't mean it doesn't need a DIY.
I'd vote for a well done 5 page Oil change DIY vs a crappy 6 page Tranny swap DIY

The DIY listing keeps them seperate.
Go ahead, if you guys wanna try them monthly, let's try that first.
