Yeah, I guess I missed that.

The OBX headers are loved all around, and I haven't heard of one problem with their Strut Bars either.

I'm not a big fan of their CAI but I haven't heard one bad thing about that one either.

At least OBX has a nice website, and if you buy something, you get it.

I did not say that obx puts out deffective items. Nor did i say that aem and injen make exhausts. That being said, the general point i was bringing out is how companies have copied major manf. designs in exhausts, headers, intakes, etc. and then sell them for very low prices. Many large companies now are lamenting how in the past year, business has really been hurt because of this. There are thousands of people who do not care about this, and theres nothing im going to say that will change your opinion. But there are people out there, like myself, who do not want to support such greedy actions, and who would rather support a company that genuinely wants to develop new products for his/her car, instead of just copying things to make a quick buck. This thread is for those people.

I fully understand what's going on. There are budget type brands, and then there are name brand items. Name brands bring you more points at car shows, and sometimes offer better performance. Let's not turn this into a bashing guys. Only post if you are interested in helping out.

Actually, AEM in fact, does make exhausts.

Since it is predetermined that every topic shall indeed go 'off-topic' here is something to quench that thirst. AEM now owns DC sports, MEANING, AEM now, produces exhausts, and everything else DC sports produces.

On Topic

It's only 300$ for a catback, plus you get half back? Make no mistake, it -IS- a good deal.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (yamaneko)</div><div class='quotemain'>We are not going to start price wars on our products like many have done, much of which is ruining the market in general today. <span style="color:#4040ff">We would like to hope that our products are of top quality</span>, and build a brand name, one that is not known just to be the "cheapest." We have friends who have this car who could do this testing for free, but instead of that, we wanted to first see if there was anyone interseted in this who we could hook up so that we can build more customer relationships.</div>

Ok, for a little clarification here I have edited a quote from you and will comment on it.
1. I wasn't trying to start a price war or rip anyone off.

2. You should be careful who you are slandering (OBX) because a lot of us use and like their product and they have a good rep and customer service which we cannot say for you yet.

3. The only point I was trying to make you said yourself and is in blue above.

4. I do commend the offer and was not trying to offend, I just tend to tell it like it is and some people take that as brash, it is not meant to be. I am sure there are friends that will test it for you and if you can do that and post dynos and pics I am sure that would do well for you until you built a bigger customer base and knowledge of your customer service was known more.

I am not trying to start anything by any of this....but if you want people to trust you, you need to trust people and should just write up a contract that binds them to get pics and whatnot and sell it to the initial group for the 150 less.....and as far as the price the only one that I know of that costs more than yours is the MBRP and that is definitely worth it if you have the money.

Again this is my opinion and I am looking at everyones best interest and am not trying to get you to "whore" anything. I like to see tuners and companies be able to thrive, if companies aren't doing well, there are not as many new products and less companies are likely to be interested in our cause and just make more parts for Honda and Acura.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Voiddweller)</div><div class='quotemain'>No offense yamaneko but we can get one cheaper than the price you are offering after the refund here in the US that we know fits!! I would love to help out as I need a catback but for one that has not even been tested here in the US I think you are asking quite a bit. This is more of a R&D sponsorship type deal and that is really expensive plus shipping from Korea cannot be cheap!! I would advise doing this (as many of other companies have done) you lower the number you are offering and either set them up as a sponsorship and give them the catback or sell it to them at cost since they are doing you a favor. That is usually how we do things in the states since we are taking faith in you, your product and our time and labor in install, testing and taking pics for your needs plus providing you with feedback. I am sure I am not alone in this line of thinking. Sorry if this seems harsh but I like to tell it like it is. :?</div>

I agree... I got my OBX catback for $211 shipped... its 2.5" Stainless.... its a beautiful piece of work. At any rate...

voidd, im not slandering anyone. Slander is saying something knowingly thats un true with mal intent. What i said was true so it cant be slander. By any means, i view this thread as a binding contract to us. Here in a public forum we are stating exactly what the deal is...theres no going back on our word without serious repurcussions, since everyone has seen this thread.

As i mentioned, im not on here to fight with people...we have our own people we could use for this testing, but i want a third party to independently test this exhaust. If no one feels comfortable with that at this time, youre not going to hurt my feelings....we will still get it tested. Ill give it a couple more days. :-)

Well, that sounded like slander to us.

With the Team SR & SR public relations is such a GOOD state as they are, slander should be avoided I'd think.

Of course, that would make sence.

What proof do you have that the items OBX and others make are "cheap copies from China"?
