From the seller in response to everyone's questions.

no airbags..
SCCA requires that the motor remain stock in this class, however in order to be nationally competitive the rules are bent at times. This motor has had certain modifications, flywheel has been shaved throttle intake enlarged, ECU donated by Hyundai factory creating more HP (ECU was a prototype off their bench never used in production) valves resized, cam changed and since the ECU came from Hyundai the fun doesn?t stop at 6,750RPM (actually I have run the motor up to 7,400 RPM without any problems. HP can't say for sure but my guess is around 170-180. Rules allow for a straight pipe and yes the converts are gone or gutted. Stock gas tank. Bigger sway bars and springs.</div>
I'll say it again (won't let me edit post)
$3500 for that is a BARGAIN!!!! That's one steal of a deal!

I would be willing to donate $20. If we can get 175 members to do so, the site could own the car. Use is as a demo car for RD at NOPI and other shows. Members that donate could get their member name put on the car in a small vinyl cut, kind of like a lifesize recognition plaque. Maybe even take it for a lap at the tracks for events like meets.
I would be willing to donate to the cause, but just remember it's going to cost some to maintain even if it's just a show car to rep the site. Where are these funds going to come from?

Seriously, a buddy of mine is looking for a strictly toy/tuner car and is willing to spend $5500 on a Tib. So I just need to contact him. Maybe we can both hit the autocross. cool.gif
Actually, its the guy that posted in the gripes section about getting screwed on the ebay auction.

Thanks for pointing it out to me, Jon! It's practically sold... the only thing I'm trying to find out is whether I can get it registered (all it needs is a muffler to pass inspection) so it'll be "street legal". THe guy doesn't have a title... says he never got one when he bought it "from hyundai" (original owner). If I can get it registered with plates and drive it on the street on the weekends, I'm so there! I need a manual fix on the weekends from the daily driving an auto in traffic grind so it won't help me much if I can only drive it every couple of weeks at an SCCA event that it gets trailered to (plus I have no room for a trailer). fing02.gif
Edit - Screw it! Even if I can't register it, I'll keep it and race it at SCCA events for a while, then sell it (if I can bring myself to) when the time's right. If I can register it, then SWEET! cool.gif beavis.gif
