Kspec Underdrive Pulley - New
Hello all,
I have a BLUE underdrive pulley from KSPEC for sale. "For what engine?", you ask. Here's the answer. I have NO FREAKING CLUE!
Here's the story. Back in November, I bought the pulley and a 1.8L cam from them. I put the cam in, but the pulley didn't fit. Of course, I threw away the receipt, deleted the emails, and closed the credit card in the meantime.
I emailed KSPEC staff and they said send pictures. So I did...nice ones with a tape measurer held next to it.
They replied saying that they couldn't help me unless I had the order number. I did not, but asked if they could at least identify what pulley it is. No response.
a few weeks go by and I email again to see what they could do at least for identification. No response.
A few more weeks go by and I am done. So here it is, for sale to anyone who wants it. Make sure (based on my pics) that it will fit your car.
my hunch is that it's for a 1.8L Tiburon but that's just an unfounded hunch. It is too small for the 2.0L tib.

Now, price...it is in new condition, and though I cannot use it, it does still have a great deal of intrinsic value. So...if you're between the ages of 18-30, take your age and multiply it by 5. That's the range I'm looking for. Add ~$8 for shipping.
I hope this will help someone out......

p.s. I may not answer posts this weekend, but I may...not sure if internet is working at home. I WILL get to you monday at the latest though. wink1.gif

When you say it's "too small" for the 2.0L, what do you mean? You do realize that it is supposed to be significantly smaller than the stock one as well as lighter? Kinda how it "underdrives" the accessories.
And I'm pretty sure the only difference between the years might ribbed vs V and splined vs smooth. But you might get a mix of anything thanks to Hyundai.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

When I say too small, I mean the center hole is too small. I take the stock crank pulley off and when I try to fit the blue one on, the bar that it slides on is too big. It's not the pulley itself that is too small, but the hole.
but now you guys got me thinkin...maybe it'll fit on my SR20...(mad scientist laugh)
eh, well it's still for sale. Thanks for your thoughts, everyone.

That is for the beta. There's no other engine that Jspeed builds stuff for.
Sorry.
The fact you couldn't get it on, doesn't mean it's wrong, just means they are hard to get on. MIne was a bit of a b**** to get on.

Really? (rubs chin)...well...perhaps I need to reinvestigate things a bit. I never tried actually forcing it on. Perhaps that will be my next move.
Well, if anyone wants the pulley for $90 shipped, let me know. I understand that's about $7 more than what you get on EBAY but that's my price to let it go...otherwise I'll eventually put it on. I'll delete this thread once it's not for sale any longer.
Thanks for all this discussion, gentlemen. smile.gif

QUOTE (kb5133 @ Aug 11 2007, 08:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

^^ Yup. Had to use a rubber mallet to "finess" mine on.

Yup, me too.
What I did was removed the stock one, checked the hole sizes by putting one on top of the other, transfered the timing mark over to the new one, and put it on place. It didn't want to go on all of the way (anodizing adds something like .004 inch of thickness), so I pulled it off, cleaned the shaft really well, the slipped it back on. Smacked it a few times with the rubber mallet to get it on a bit further, then just used the bolt to pull it the rest of the way on. Never had another problem with it.
