"One of my antennas broke? The old one broke when you tried to put the new one on? If it's something with my antenna, I'd be happy to refund you. I'd be pretty pissed too."

No, your's is great. My stock one, I started un-screwing it like barley at all and it broke off at the base, Tried to unscrew the little pibble left and it broke too. Now the thread has the old antenna base stuck and rusted in. Sorry about the post, I'm just getting sick of the car. The outside is friggin ridiculously messed up.

Well, my antenna broke today. Car hasn't driven in over a year, but all I did was brush up against it and it broke off. Let me know if you want pics.

It lasted 8 days?

So these are just a base glued to a antenna? Have you considered one-piece element construction? Like take a piece of rod, cut it to the proper length and then thread the end?

Ok, I'm back guys.

This seems to be the only problem with the antennas. It seems to be about 1 in 10 antennas (although it's strangely a higher percentage on this board) that break. Most are doing just fine with their antennas. I'm trying to find a one-piece method for making the antennas currently, and will definitely replace the old ones as needed as soon as I find a way to make them completely secure. DrivingTibNaked, I'm working on getting pieces made just like you suggested. I have everyone's addresses and everything recorded from day one, so replacing them will only be a matter of a huge fiscal and time loss for me, but I'm willing to sacrifice that.

Once again, if anyone is disgruntled or anything, please let me know, and I will be happy to work something out with you.

Otherwise, it looks like REDZMAN is the only one currently with a broken one, so expect another soon. Hopefully this one will last until you get a better one.

I'm really trying my best guys, and I know how upset you must be to have it break, as it's easy for me to put myself in that position. I will continue to work hard, just like always, to satisfy you.

Thanks,
Paul

^^ Like the man says. I had one of the very first batch, and the replacement he sent is EXCELLENT. I just got it installed today.
The first one had some "drip" runs all around the base, but this new one is perfect. And those that were wondering before about reception, here's what I found out. I had to drive out of town to pick up a friend tonight, and I was thinking how this was my first test with the new antenna. Since I still had the old one in the back seat, I stopped on the highway when my reception started to fade out (with the new antenna). I pulled over, swapped the stock one back in, and the radio was pure static with just a hint of music buzzing through it.
So, it seems like the replacement antenna I got is actually -better- than the stock one. Hope everyone else is just as lucky. smile.gif

Well, I'm glad to hear that!

Ok guys, looks like I do have a supplier for custom- machined pieces for one-piece antennas. smile.gif
