ummmmm tibbychick, i said in the first post, we WILL pick it up IN canada,
just asking if able to meet us somewhere "half-way," more or less, between car's location and canada's border. that's what we have in mind, but if you really need us to go out to where's the car's located, that's likely fine with us

See that just shows that you truly don't know what you are getting into. Did you even read what I wrote?
You still have to import it into the US. You can't just drive it back into the US and expect to be able to register and insure it in your state. They will see that it is a Canadian car and you'll be SOL because you didn't do it properly in the first place.
I suggest you do some research, try looking through the National Highway Traffic Saftey Administration's website, www.nhtsa.gov
Trust me, I know what I'm talking about here. When I moved to Canada for school, I was able to import my car while I was in school. But now that I am getting my Permanent Residency and will moving back to Canada permanetly, I will have to import my car when I "land" in the country. It's a lot of paperwork and they inspect the car to make sure it is safe to drive on the roads. They probably will give me a hard time because it's modified.
US Customs will probably also give you a hard time if you try to import this car. One pop of the hood and they'll see that it is no where close to stock specs. And even if you are able to import it, you will have to pay duties on the purchase price of the car. That's quite a bit of money on top of what you will be paying for the car.
Do your research first, find about all the paperwork that's involved and how much it's gonna cost you to import it. As I said, you can't just drive a Canadian car into the US like it's nothing. They take this stuff seriously. They will see that you are American, see the Canadian plates on the car, and wonder why an American is driving a Canadian car.
Also, you'll have to drive the car almost 1000 miles. I pay over $100 in gas driving from LI, NY to Toronto, and thats a 500 mile trip in an N/A car. I could only imagine how much it would be to fuel this full turbo'ed car for a 1000 mile trip. I'd guestimate it'd be close to $300, if not more.

foxxy, i appreciate the interest but i wouldn't feel comfortable doing monthly payments, i've been screwed over too much in the past.. so unless you are able to pay the full amount im sorry, and it is a lot of work to import and get everything done..
kewlkat check pm..

hmm, now i gotcha, thanks for the advice tibbychick. yes i did read your post, but i wasn't quite sure if you typed that with us willing to pick it up ourselves, and by imported, i'm thinking "having it shipped over." i never thought that bringing things such as vehicles across nation borders yourself is considered importing. i'll have to keep that in mind from now on wink1.gif thanks
and no problem nightshark, i understand. i have read quite a few threads on here and other sites relating to a lot of people getting screwed over with money agreements/terms. really sad, and if i were to buy anything expensive from anybody with payment agreement, i first consider this "will i be able to keep my word and actually pay every time as promised?" i was very positive and confident with keeping my word with making payments for my car, and the dealer i bought it from was grateful that i have been doing a good job so far. that dealer have had few cases with highschoolers/adults under age of 25 not keeping up with their payments. when my car got vandilized, and sent to body shop (which fetish did w/out my permission) i called my dealer, explained the situation, and he were completely flexible with me, and told me i can skip couple of payments, they'll just postpone last two due months. that was really nice of him, even more when he told me to go ahead and skip a payment when i get security installed in my car, but i paid him that same month anyways, same with catching up my payments i missed instead of postponing payments
oops, sorry didn't mean to ramble here, lol, but alrightie thanks for the heads up about "crossing the borders" with vehicles and such, and i will keep that in mind whenever fetish and i are shopping for a car to purchase laugh.gif
i hope you'll find a lucky buyer NightShark (aside KeWLKaT, who obviously have his heart set on that car wink1.gif )
