anybody that is questioning the ratios should go to walmart and look at the screens. some vizios are on display and there is one with 700:1 and one with 1000:1. there is a difference and those are a 720p! the higher the contrast ratio the shaper the image, all other things being equal. this is an extremely great deal. thanks for the heads up

Just a quick update, so far, I frigging LOVE THIS TV.
COD 4 on 1080P is just amazing.
The picture in picture is awesome, and you can set individual brightness and other settings PER INPUT.
The only thing I'm not very fond of is the remote, but that's fine, as I use the cable box remote anyways.
The colors are fantastic, no problems at all with the set, and it's QUIET running. The on board speakers are actually VERY good too, I'm a bit suprised.
Now I just need help deciding to stay with Comcast for TV or going to DirecTV. I'll start a new thread.
