^You're comparing your 3hp gain to what exactly?

well, as Random said, it might likely be due to backpressure, or something that is causing your lack of power.

i think a number of variables is causing me to waste my time and money... all combined into one and my car is really as fast as stock!

if you want real power, you're going to have to have air pushed into the engine or sucked out. N/A setups will not be satisfying for the money.

Hey all, loads of good comments and information in this thread, I've learnt a stack-load.

Let me clarify a few things: I'm UK based, the weather was not overly warm at the time of the test, the bonnet was up with cold air being fanned onto it. Yes, I should have got a dyno run when I first started making changes - three years ago!

Zman, my torque is quite interesting, it hits 130lb/ft at 2,250 revs, up to 140lb/ft at 4,500 revs and starts tailing off at 5,250 revs and dips below 120lb/ft at 6,000. Not so much as a curve as a wiggly horizontal line wink1.gif

Agarwal, the chart merely says Fly Power, so I assume that's an extrapolated whp figure 02.gif

@Random, my whp is 100. Interesting comments on backpressure, anyone else agree? Really looking to learn things here...

@Tibby01: Nope, 100whp unfortunately

@Jaws021: Will try to get an image on sometime tomorrow (late night here)

Dang it, what does MAP stand for again?

Thanks all,

Mike K.

MAP= Manifold Absolut Pressure
MAF=Mass Air Flow

Your car is a 2.0 right?
To get more air into the cylinder you need to have a better intake camshaft, the OEM is really mild... try getting the 1.8 Beta intake camshaft, it will do wonders, specially if you already have other mods to help the engine breathe. I bet you for the ~$100 kspec charges for that piece delivered to UK, you can improve your numbers a lot. If you are ready to spend more serious bucks you could get the intake camshaft+ECU combo that REAL Korea offers, and by the high value of the british pound, if I were you I'd do it right away wink1.gif

Is your IAT sensor conected? (pic is not very clear)

Another question for you.... what Dyno system was it? Different types and makes of Dynos give different results.. for the same car.

I think the Dynojet is the most accurate..

Good point, if it was done on a Mustang dyno don't worry about your power numbers because if you correct them for the SAE equivalent you're doing pretty well fing02.gif

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (HyundaiKitCoupe @ Aug 26 2005, 05:02 PM)</div><div class='quotemain'>lol yeah i've got GT headers, downpipe, high flow cat, 2.25's full cat-back exhaust and i've spent over $2,000 USD. I've got all of my sensors in. I've gained no more than 3 horsepower from this sh*t.

maybe it's the weight of my rims and tires. maybe it's meineke's fault for putting in an extra bend. maybe it's my evaporation cannister hogging power. maybe it's just my automatic transmission.
was it worth it?

that's where my supercharger comes in smile.gif

100k mi and auto tranny are killing you... I spent only $420 on my performance mods and car got a second faster than it was smile.gif

Mike, if you're really only at 100whp now, I'd be inclined to recommend that you put all of your stock bits back on the car... Seriously! That's pretty weak.

Like everyone has said, that WAI needs to go first. Then you should get it re-dynoed somewhere else... Those figures seem suss to me.

RUN back to that shop and demand your money back. You got taken. Swindled. RIPPED OFF.

Ask him to explain/justify how 145 Flywheel HP = 100 Wheel HP?
That's a 45% drivetrain loss! Even AWD TRUCKS aren't that bad.

out of the stock 140-138 Flywheel HP that hyundai claims, the WORST BONE STOCK run I have ever seen is 110 WHP. The best was 132 WHP. (Different dyno's so results aren't 100% comparable, but it gives you the range). There's NO WAY ON THIS EARTH that your car has 145 Flywheel HP but only 100 WHP. Not unless you're running sand in your differential and diamond dust in your bearings, and rolling on 72" 1000 lb Tractor tires.....
