Ok, I have until October 5th to build my car up to beat a Dodge SRT-4. The SRT is stock and will prolly stay that way, but I gotta get my car up to par.

I have:
AEM CAI
KRD 4-1 Header
Custom 2 and 1/4" Cat-Back
Apex'i N1 Muffler w/ Super Silencer
I just installed a universal cat for sound reasons.
Underdrive Pully

I am planning on adding:
Stage 2 Racing Clutch
Lightened Flywheel
Short Shifter
Colder Plugs
GSX Fuel Pump
75 Shot of Nitrous
Front strut bar to help with wheel hop

I will also strip my interior for weight reduction because I will have a custom fiberglassed hatch.

I want your opinions on what you guys think. Will I be able to beat the SRT? Should I add more to my grocery list? The next logical thing that I can think of would be a BBTB and possibly a new IM, but I think I will take him with what I have listed.

*Disclaimer -- This will be done at a drag strip, no street racing.

 

The SRT does a low 14 in the quarter stock, if he has done any modifications, it'll be very difficult to beat. Your best bet is to go turbo too..just my 2 cents. Good luck..BTW, I'm sure you're planing on racing on a closed track wink1.gif

id say go turbo, you seem to be pretty seroius about buildin up your car so do what it takes and get the turbo, do you have the money and the ability to have it installed by then. unless you turbo it you probably dont stand a chance. and the celica all trac is turboed and it gets beat

 

My bro drives a celica all trac turbo that smokes my car and he got outrun by a SRT-4 bad that is stock. So i say go TURBO and really lighten the hell outta the tib and as long as your a good driver and your reaction time is good then itll be a good race! GOOD LUCK!

 

I def say go extreme turbo and lighten the hell out of your car. Also, make sure its a stock srt. Ive lost to a rsx type s with the mods below. The srt is 1 sec faster in 1/4 mile

 

With the mods you plan on adding it wil be driver's race. Maybe you will have a little advantage.

You will be in low/flat 14s, he's in low 14s stock.

Are you a good driver? Have a lot of drag racing experience?

 

You might want to invest in an LSD too. The SRT-4 has one and it helps a lot in putting the power to the road.

depends on if he knows how and when to use it. u also might want to see if the srt is being modded as well. if so no chance. especially if he/she is going as far as you are with mods.

 

homey, he stated in his 1st post that SRT4 will most likely stay stock....
