Default Reason for low trap speeds?

Ive seen people who have have fast 1/4 mile times but low trap speeds, and i see others who have slower times, but higher trap speeds... what are the factors that go into traps? I cant figure it out.

Launch, traction, gearing, nitrous in later gears, turbo lag, etc. can effect the trap speed vs. time.

I think the rule of thumb is that high power = fast traps, and good traction = fast 60' times. Combine them and you have a winrar.

Gearing is a big factor in being Fast Speed or time wise! Also alot to do with Actual WHP, You wont see a 200 HP car breakin 110MPH Trapspeed, but running a high 12's is doable with the right gearing!

I ran a 13.7 in my 350Z and also ran a 13.7 in my T/A WS6. The 350Z made 281 whp and hit 99mph with a 1.9 60'. The WS6 made 320 whp and hit 103mph with a 2.0 60'. That should, in a nutshell, explain the differences.
