It sounded like the gear slipped to me, not that your bogging down from extra fuel. If that was the case, you'd bog all gears, would be no reason 3rd gear would be worse than the others.
That auto is just geared so horrendously. >.<

brackets okay. all i really wanted to do yesterday was to see which method made my car drive faster.
i was planning:
D accelerate
D accerlerate + od off
brake launch with one of the above
autoshift, i know it sounds bad but my tranny seem to take it okay. haha
yea, i stil have to buy the clamps for the hoses before i get moving on the evap canister. soon though.

3rd gear is slipping as ham said. I might have a feeling that your aggressive "shifting automatics" might have something to do with it. They weren't build to be auto shifted, or toggled between all those situations your playing with. They are meant for. D..go..R reverse, P park LOL.
Do a manual swap...you'll love it.

stupid tach. took about a week to get everything running and on that day the rpm burned out. only the redline work. thats all you need man!! haha
as for the shiffting thing. I only did that recently when i had problems going up hills and it worked so i used it more when i needed the power. The bog was always there and i just thought it was another one of those things cause sometimes the RPM would drop but i would stay going the sam speed. i thought it was some gas saving technique. (lower rpm= same mph= save gas!?)

Yet another sign that your transmission is screwed to hell.
Auto trannies usually upshift/downshift more than necessary... in every auto I've driven at least. If it doesnt downshift and your struggling to get up a hill it seems to me that either the auto tranny computer is bad or something inside the tranny is messed up and not allowing it too.

id say, swap to a manual, or get a rebuilt auto with level 10 tq convertor.
i would just build a entry turbo kit of your own, a LOT cheaper. you could even intercool it for that price.. and it would pump out more power..

rd1tib, it's been 10 days since i have done this and that's the longest i have ever gone without a light. just follow my setup, takes 15-20 mins plus a drive to advanceautoparts. you don't even need clamps or nothing, just pick up some barbs from home-depot, the fuel line from autozone/advance i mentioned, the breakoff connector and you're all set. i would do the evap mod first. then once that's finished and the problem still exists you could rule it out. only reason i'm saying it is because i have an automatic just like yours and the same crap happened with mine and the computer was running on default setting and when i floored it on the highway it would only switch down one gear. couldn't even go uphills like you mentioned. 10 days ago, that changed.

i know most of you are 5-speed, however the auto tranny isn't as weak as you think and it's not normal for it to do this. it could be third gear slipping, but there would be a CEL and some obvious signs of that happening. however my number one is the canniser and for those of you who are just joining in it IS directly related to the ECM and is dangerous to drive on (take for instance you're making a left turn and wait for a gap between oncoming traffic, give it gas but the car won't move because it cannot decide which gear to take)

no way im giving up this soon, but man does driving a manual feel good. i drove my friends accord, about 140hp wheels and 4 door, and still it feels good revving it through the power band.
no i havent been sucking in air at the cap, since i just plugged all of them together.
I think for now, im going to use the clear lines i have first. And see how it goes.
