So, I was on my way to work when I happened to pass a Type S. Seemed modded with basic i/e.
So we went headed on to the neighborhood track which was on the way and which had a controlled, monitored environment. The Acura killed me. I thought I'd atleast get to stay close behind given that I have a 200 lb weight advantage. Guess I was being stupid. The car pulled 4-6 car lengths on me before I gave up.
I have a clogged cat that's probably screwing me over, but I was wondering, would an NA car with the following mods be able to stay close?
AEM CAI
61-65mm BBTB
AIRRAM IM with Spacers
Port Match & Polish Job
Plugs + Wires
1.8 L Cam
Power Pulley set
VHR clutch with forged Flywheel
Ceramic Coated Headers + High Flow Cat
Apexi 2.5 catback
Lightweight 17inch Rims (14 lbs)
Eibach Pro Kit Plus
60 lbs of further weight reduction

were you boosted?? what mods did you have..
rsx type s has 200hp stock.. if you were anywhere close to stock, you wouldnt touch that thing unless you were REALLLY good driver, and he sucked at driving...
i played with a RSX-S this weekend, and beat him.. look on his face was priceless.. he looked like i just took his kid away from him or something..

How come you and me always have communication problems Jaws? lmao.gif
The mods I plan are in my first post. Only then will I consider a rematch.
With the mods I currently have, I was 4-6 car lengths behind him.

For an NA application, I think you should go for these mods:
AEM CAI
61mm BBTB
AIRRAM IM with Spacers
Port Match & Polish Job
Plugs + Wires
1.8 L Cam
Power Pulley set
Ceramic Coated Headers + High Flow Cat
Apexi 2.5 catback
Eibach Pro Kit Plus
60 lbs of further weight reduction
Lightweight 15 inch Rims (9~11 lbs)
17" will hurt your perfromance, even though they are "light" and VHR clutch wont help too much, I don't think you really need the clutch since you are not turbo and won't be making more than 150~160 WHP which the OEM clutch can handle well.
Invest that money into the REAL Ecu-Cam combo, or better yet put 1.8 pistons and GK gasket too, I think with that and weight reduction you could have a chance at least to stay close. But ecu tuning is critical for the mods you will need to achieve that.

With a good driver those cars are pretty quick. I never raced one or seen any at the local track, but as far as I know and have seen few videos they run low 15s bone stock, maybe even high 14s. Add a few little things and you got a solid 14 second car.
They are also really really good from roll races once they are in their v-tec range.
