My Tib Against An S4

ok so i just read this whole thread cuz my roommate has a 03 S4 !! always talking about the RS4 upgrade and all, and let me tell you the Audi is fast as all hell !! he pushed it up to 170 where the speedo tops out and the RPMS were still climbing !! so i say we were doing about 180 - 190 mph. and it handled like we were doing 100 mph.
as for the track !! its a dog slow piece of embarrasing German engineering !! I was almost embarrased for him to see him pull 14.5 second runs !! in a 250 hp AWD car!
the stock turbos are laggy as all hell, he doesnt boost hard until about 4000, maybe a little higher, its almost annoying the ride with him, cuz of the turbo lag.
your t3 sup 60 is gonna crush him, even if you only put down 200 whp !!
you should race for pinks, race for the best 2 out of 3 to account for any mishifts or wheels spins and youll have yourself a new audi that you can part out and sell the rest for scrap. !!

AWD TT? AWD sucks? turbo lag? S4?
hmm...
You have a chance for afew reasons.
The car is a lux car. Made for a smooth ride. The power isnt to make you go fast.
The turbos on that car take forever to spool.
The awd system on it is NOT made for racing like the new evos. Made for handling.
Being an audi and a lux car, its f'n heavy.
Now for all the '?' marks at the top of the post.

The S4 is one of the best handling cars out there! assuming it's not driven by an ass, as it usually happens...
It is as good as an m3, if not better. all that plus a luxurious interior.
Umm....are we thinking about the same S4 here? The one that pitches up on two wheels at a sharp corner? The one with more body-roll than a ford station wagon? The one that, were it not for quatro, would be undriveable in any kind of performance environment?
It takes a lot to get an S4 to behave well. Any driver can get in one and feel like an F1 star, untill you try to actually push the thing to it's limits. Then you realize that those limits are a lot lower than you thought. And when you pass them, the car doesn't just gradually get worse, it snaps into a sloppy beast.
Thanks for re-enforcing my point loneshark. Defenitely try to get him to race for slips. If he doesn't want to put up an audi against a hyundai, I'm sure you can collect some money here at the threads to make it a little more enticing. Then we'll split the profit.

haha.gif Dude I think hes right. You should make a FNF4! AND THIS TIME IT'S FOR REAL!!! This would be about German engineering vs lighweight K-cars vs Vin Desiel driving a twin turbo AMC Pacer! Tell me that wouldn't be a great movie!
I'd definitly agree with you beating him on a circuit. The S4 is a brick and when it comes into turns it would have to slow down due to its weight. The only thing that would really be working for his cornering speeds would be the AWD and even then it's no Scooby. For those turbos on his car, he says he has different ones on there, you should research and find out if they spool up quicker than the laggy stock ones. That could make a big difference on how his car performs on a circuit on a strip. On the strip I would hit em with the slicks, some tuning and, testing. drillsergeant.gif
