I was supposed to go to the TX Mega Meet yesterday, but when I started up my car to leave, the FPR broke the rail in half. See here: http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtop...view=getnewpost
So after trying to fix it for half the day, I gave up on the meet and decided to make the best of the day. Although the numbers are "respectable", they are not as high as they should be. The waves at the top are a result of the problem I'm having with the spark blowing out. Here's that thread: http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtopic=18225
I gapped it at .028 and didn't feel it too much on my butt dyno, but the real dyno shows it significantly.

This is also with the PRS4 that I just did a self road tune with. That's right, I did this the other night on the road. lol Check out that AFR!! (It'll read half a point higher since it's in the exhaust pipe) Perfect 12:1 ratio across!! I should be a tuner. cool.gif

This is with 14psi and a completely stock $300 motor from the junkyard with 23k miles on it. So you see, with a basic turbo kit, a good ECU, and <u>STOCK</u> motor, this is a realistic number we could all hit. Let's see a Honda put this kind of torque ratio down.

270.5 HP / 268.2 TQ

Hopefully by next month, I'll have my new coil setup done, and be able to flatten out that top end curve.

That is good. Car sounds nice tho. Wheres your thread with this setup you have here, so I can see what your running.

Also, no de-comp plate? How long are you expecting for that motor to last..

Check my garage for more info.

I temporarily swapped a stock motor back in. UNOPENED. No decompression plate or anything. The motor came from a salvage yard with 22k on it. Now has like 23-24k.

Nice #'s Jon.

Thats how its done fing02.gif

I assume you stopped @ 6200 because of the spark. More power come with better spark and higher RPM's

Yea, I'm still using the stock ignition system, so I'm not able to rev it high. He bounced it off the rev limiter ever time. I'm gonna start working on the ignition part of the PRS and let it rev another 500rpms cause I think there is still power there.
But my main concern is the spark blowing out from the stock coils and wires. I'm guessing another 10-15hp can be gained from just a stronger spark.

I'm just curious, are you running stock internals to prove how long it lasts or do you plan on adding at least a decomp plate for now?

Also what are your plans for ignition?

Car started smoking a while back. It was either the built motor or the turbo. I chose to swap the motor first since I didn't have a spare turbo lying around. Turned out to be the turbo. I rebuilt the turbo and haven't had time to put the built motor back in.
I figured I'd have a little fun while its in there. tongue.gif

I'm not gonna do crap with it internally. I'm probably gonna make it hit 300-320whp to prove that it's possible and then swap it out. I've been flooring it several times every day at this power level and tune, so I know it's reliable at this level so far.

Ya, I know of his built engine, I was just curious wtf he's doing with this one lol.

Well, it might hit 300whp. But I doubt it will last long with those numbers.
