Did you try cleaning the drive? Did you try using different media? Because all cd-rs are NOT created alike.

Well if all else fails, that little DIY up top will still work for you, the first half at least. Make sure you clean the xbox while you have it open. I've seen too many xboxs mess up because of fan failure from too much dirt

quick rundown on a good quick cleaning: Use a paintbrush and compressed air to dust everything off. Use lcohol, paper towels and q tips to clean everything. Use paper towels to dry. Then use qtips and compressed air to get to the crannys where there's still alcohol. Once you cannot see any alcohol left on the board, allow to dry for 15 minutes, then reassemble the xbox.
