I am not too hyped up about it... I wish the country where I was born would have qualified. Last time they weren't qualified was about 20 years ago.

Plus Argentina is one the favorite to win. They placed #1 in South America with 43pts. The second highest was Ecuador with 31pts, then Brazil with 30pts. wink

 

Argentina RULES! They have enough players on that team to make 2 World Cup teams.

 

So, what are your votes? After watching their first round games, I think Argentina, Germany, Brazil and Italy are going to be the final 4.

There has only been a handfull of first round games. The first round (Round Robin) is not even 25% complete yet. Portugal plays tomorrow and I'm sticking w/ my boys. You can't go wrong with picking Argentina, a very strong team. But I'll disagree with you on Germany & Italy.

Sure Germany had whipped Saudi 8-0 in the first game but Saudi should not be in the WC to begin with. They are definately the weakest team in the tournament. Germany should advance to the next round but probably won't get any further.

Italy will lose to portugal once they finish second in their group and Portugal finishes in first. tongue.gif The only thing that might hurt Portugal is their lack of discipline. We're a bunch of hot-heads.

It is still much to early to make predictions based on watching a singe game from a handfull of teams. There is still so much that can happen in the first round. Brazil's Rivaldo may be suspended for two games for taking a dive. That would be a huge blow to Brazil who could've easily lost or tied their first game if it weren't for the ref giving them a gift. That penalty took place out of the box and should NOT have been a penalty shot. A card, definately.... but not a penalty kick.

I wouldn't mind who wins as long as it's an European team, although I am kind of inclined towards Italy.

Hm, FUGO is not playing well recently and I think he is still injured and not fully recovered. So I am not sure about Portugal. Brazil, ... with the 3 "R"'s attacking power, the team should do better one game after another. Germany, they have been practicing the headers alot and 4 of their 8 goals in their last game were head shots. And by the way, the weakest team is China who made it to the WC the first time in history, ranked 50th. Italy, not bad in their last game, very average/well in all areas. So I am sticking with my 4 teams. France was sh1t in their first game. England wasn't playing their best neither.
