why'd you get a tib?
My old car was dying and I couldn't find one for anything...until I was in Cincy and found the Hyundai dealer..."hmmm, what is this". I pulled in and saw the car I knew I would own. Went back home....tranny started to go out on my car so I frantically searched for a car locally. I found nothing and the cars I did find in my price range were ugly....then I came across a Hyundai dealer about 30 minutes away. I was more than happy....there were only a couple of Tiburons since this was in 97...I jumped all over it because it is a beautiful car and just so happened to be in my price range. laugh.gif
yes it was the jaws that won me over.. even though i have a 2nd gen... my heart goes out to the 1st gen.. for startin it all.... and dang!! what a very cool commercial... but when it came time to buy my tiburon, i just had to have a new one...something about new car smell does it for me..
I started out with a 95 Hyundai Sonata GL with a V6 3.0L and it had it's normal wear and tear. Thought I would get a newer car and tried a 98 ZX2. Wrecked it on black ice and I told my wife I'm getting me a Hyundai again. When I got to the lot I told the sales guy what I wanted in my tib and all he could do is point right at it and I bought it right their.
My mom actually saw one driving around town and was trying to get rid of the minivan mom mobile so she bought a tropical green 2000 Tib. After about 4 years, $10,000 and a lot of drags I finally blew the engine in my '85 Rx-7 and needed a car to gt to work the next day so i borrowed mom's. Long story short, I loved it and decided to buy one myself instead of putting more money into a dead car.

What's wrong with the Excel?
I've got a 93 Excel that runs great with 168,000 miles on it.
I got my Tib because I loved the reliability of my Excel, the Tib looked hot and I love the interior. I could afford it, and it looked and handled great.
