lol... 110 in Vegas is more comfortable than 95º on the east coast
I'm from Boston... No, it's not. That whole, "but it's a dry heat" is the biggest crock.
Hottest day this year...Took the only otherway home today to avoid construction and got stuck in construction and tore up roads...on way home from bodyshop with tib too....frickin awesome!!....NOT!

Yep, heat wave here too.
90 today, 88 tomorrow, 82 after that.
Humidity here is crushing. Worse than anywhere else I've been for some reason. I'm not sure what the difference is, but worse than the east coast, Atlanta, socal, Hawaii, anywhere.
Dry heat is a TON better for me. I would rather it was 100 in a dry heat than 80 here. The reason is that I sweat a lot. Here, it just pours off of me and soaks everything. In a dry heat it evaporates and cools me actually. When I drove across the Mojave to Vegas (with no A/C) it was no less than 107 degrees the entire time and there was never a drop of sweat on me. By the time I got to Vegas I looked like I was 60. My hair was white from the salt crystals left behind from sweating. But, I was also comfortable.
I just bought a new A/C window unit, but it won't be here until after the heat wave. It's 12,000 BTU's which is 2.5 times the size of our current one so hopefully it'll do a better job.

had a thermometer in my weld stall until last week when it hit 105 in my stall, without me welding. I never realized how much carnage you can inflict on a thermometer with a 5lb. sledge hammer.
I don't know about anyone else but i have been averaging 4 showers a day.
before work, at lunch, after work, and finally when i go to bed.

Central A/C is the greatest thing in the world! When my new inground pool gets finished next week, you're all invited over for beer, burgers, boobs, and a big pool! laugh.gif

I can fly anywhere for the cost of taxes and airport fees, so be careful what you wish for or I might just show up lol.
