Who else is having a heat wave?

Here in upstate NY, its been in the mid 90's since last Thursday. Supposed to be like that this whole week (actually closer to 100) until Saturday, and then we're supposed to have a high of 85 and a little rain.

Theres warnings out for bad air quality, and a couple of beaches have been closed due to bacteria in the water. There also has been a few suburban towns that lost power/electricity from the heat. We get really bad humidity here, similiar to what the South gets. The air is so thick, you can almost cut it with a knife, and looking out downtown, you can literally see all the haze in the air and most buildings are fuzzy looking.

Very similiar to back in Cali, except without the crazy insane humidity like here. So anyone else having a pretty bad heat wave too? All I can say is, thank god for air conditioning and my pool will be done next week. hyper2.gif

You guys worry about mid-90's? That's perfect weather here. During hte summer last year, I think we had like 90 days of 100+ temps. That was a record, but having several 100 degree days isn't anything out of the norm.

On the flip side, we don't get snow or massive rains. That's the best part. We race at the track, and go boating all year round.

It's always hot here in the summer. Gets hotter over here than Miami.

I don't consider it hot until you jump into the pool, or even worse, the middle of the lake, and the water feels like a warm bath. Now that's hot!

Nashville is supposed to break record highs in the 100's sometime this week. 40-75% humidity and 10+ UV Index.

My wife is in Massachusetts for work right now and said it's hotter there than it usually gets here.

I decided to look up stats...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"Although the month doesn't end until Wednesday, it's already going on the books as the hottest June Nashville's seen in 57 years, forecasters with the National Weather Service said Monday. The average high in June is 85 degrees, but temperatures have averaged 6.1 degrees above normal. Twenty-one of the past 28 days saw temperatures in the 90s. Usually, June only sees about 11 days above the 90-degree mark, meteorologist Bobby Boyd said.</div>

They are saying August will be the worst ever. In 2007, August saw 15 straight days of 100+ degree temps. New record since 1957.
