Default USA vs. The World, Who would win?

Murica would be able to hold off a world war against the rest of the world itself due to the substantial amount of military funding and the huge technological gap between our military and that of others. What do you guys think?

Aside from the Marines every soldier in the US Army is trained to perform one job and one job only. Technology can only get you so far. It was once said that the perfect Military would be comprised of US equipment, British leadership and Canadian soldiers.

I am FAR more qualified that any US soldier of my same rank level due to the vast training I have.

If we are talking equal number force on force than no the US would not hold its own against other countries.

What units were you around when you deployed and what training did you received that the US Army doesn't provide its service members? As far as quotes about what type of military to have, I like the following:

"One of the serious problems in planning the fight against American doctrine, is that the Americans do not read their manuals, nor do they feel any obligation to follow their doctrine" - Credited to the Soviets

"The reason the American Army does so well in wartime, is that war is chaos, and the American Army practices it on a daily basis." - Credited to the Germans

As a service member and a war history buff, Id say hold for a short time, but no dice on winning that. Far to much border to protect and we would have zero trade. A war of attrition would mean we would hurt everyone then fall IMO.

Can't win much when you start out broke. 10 year unwinable wars of choice destroyed Murica.

Are you shitting me? WW2 was the last time our country actually did worth a damn in combat. It's all political BS holding our troops back, either we strike hard and walk away patting each other on the back or DC puts a tourniquet around our nuts in the form or arms reduction. Our troops haven't seen their own full potential in almost three quarters of a decade because politicians have been too busy playing chess with a board full of living pawns. This is why North Korea is still at it, this is why Iran still talks sh*t and this is why no other country respects us as a superpower. That and we keep electing clowns for representation.

In Murica our department of defense is really offensive. We have to maintain the empire. All hail the petrol dollar and do not stand it it's way. You will get droned......

welp look at our history, we had the Department of WAR which kicked ass until it was broken apart into small, separately organized, factions shortly after WW2 and we havent truly kicked ass since

hell each division of the military uses different software to manage its staff, and they dont talk to each other at all. heck a study showed a few months back that they would save like 500 MILLION over the course of a few years(like 10 years iirc) if all branches AGREED TO USE THE SAME DAMN UNIFORM BUT WITH DIFFERENT PATCHES DESIGNATING BRANCH

As an Infantryman I am qualified to do the following, but not limited to...These are all additional courses and training which I have been given. I have been in firefights with US soldiers from 10th Mountain who were not able to pick up a GPMG and be proficient with it, yet every single CDN infantryman can do it. We have a much smaller military than the US therefor we need to train every single person to be quasi-employable, filling roles 2 rank levels above their own on a constant basis.

LAV III crew commander, gunner and driver

RG31 gunner and driver

Recce patrolman

Sniper

LMG, GPMG, HMG operator

40mm AGLS gunner

All comms qualified

84mm anti armor gunner

Eryx, TOW

60mm and 81mm mortar gunner

Forward Observer for artillery

Weird that a unit like 10th mountain isn't using the same type of schools, they can. The way you describe them some of my Guard units have more diverse training.

BTW, I am not infantry, heh. Combat Engineer/Admin. I can blow sh*t up then write a memo about it so comparing lists would do no good and besides I have heard nothing but great things about Canadian Soldiers. So I am not going to start that sort of pissing contest I was just curious what unit made us look so shitty. We had a detachment from the 101st with us in Iraq and I would have rather been with my TX Guard Infantry... then I saw some other non-big name AD groups that were awesome. So I guess it depends, probably in large part on the local Command. My true active duty time came before the Iraq war so I never deployed to war with them, just along side them.

//Back on topic.

Totally unleashed eh? Like carpet bomb cities. Kill civilians to a greater degree than what happens with precision weapons? Why? I agree that politicians do play to many games when it comes to war, but look what the US did to the Iraq army during the maneuver force on force battle. It didn't go so well for them and they had a reasonably sized military. Their tech was crap, but to show how bad it was... go back and look at what Russia did after we cut through the Iraqis since they were using Russian doctrine. I remember reading about them doing a rapid review to see if they needed to make some adjustments The crap that happened later was not a maneuver type war issue, it was what happens to just about freaking everyone that tries to occupy foreign countries.
