Tattoo
^^^ dude thats low... i woulda stuck my arm into that phone reciever and biatch slapped her out the other side.
i have a tattoo (i would take a pic but my camera is dead and i have no batteries) in memory of my cousin who was killed by a drunk driver. its fairly big but not huge... on my right shoulder. its a cross with his initials in the top two corners and his baseball numbers in the bottom two corners. its pretty cool lookin and has A LOT of black in it. took two and a half hours. cost 200 bucks too... but overall worth it
look on the net... get ideas from pictures of tattoo's on google... thats what i did. then go to the artist and have him draw something out... they are usually pretty good about coming up with something really cool

I already went, asked the guy if he could come up with an idea he said its best for me to come up with it and then i guess bring him what i got and see what he can do from there. i guess if i said you have free range to do w/e you want he would have. but whatever ideas i get from yall or from pictures... im going to put it all together and draw it myself.

Thats a really cool thing your doing man. I was thinking of getting a tattoo in memory in my mom as well but Im still debating it. Its different when your a girl. I was thinking of getting just a dove since its very spiritual or a small portrait of Mary since it was my moms favorite religious figure.
You should think about the things your mom liked and incorporate that into a tattoo. If your no artist you can go to the shop an give them your ideas and they can draw them up for you.
Good luck fing02.gif

Sorry about your Mom. As far as the tattoo goes, don't listen to what anyone says. It has to be what means something to you or what helps you remember her. Think of something that symbolizes her or something that when you see it, it always reminds you of her. Doesn't matter what it is. There's no such thing as a "stupid" tattoo as long as it means something to you.
Sorry for your loss man. You could always bring a picture of your mom and have the artist do a rendering of her wherever you want it. Then under it you could put in memory of 19xx-20xx (where the xx's are the last digits of the years she was born and died in). You also said you were thinking about the pink ribbon, that could go behind her picture ya know sort like in the background. Just my 2 cents though, in the end it's your decision and I'm sure however you decide to do it will look good.
First, sorry for your loss.
Second, DO NOT go to an "artist" (heavy sarcasm) if he/she tells you to come up with an idea. They should be willing and have enough talent to come up with something together with you. Just because they may be able to tattoo decently, doesn't make them an artist in my eyes.
I live in Georgia and found a shop called All Or Nothing Tattoo in Smyrna, GA ... www.allornothingtattoo.com The guys there are crazy as shit, but are some of the best artists I have seen. Dave Tedder is the artist that did mine. Grant it he is expensive, $150/hr, but it is well worth it and you can see that if you look at his portfolio.
You can call them up , number is on the site, and talk to them. You will probably get one of the girls at the desk, but just talk to them about who you decided to do your piece and what it is you are looking for. You will probably be able to come up with something over email/IM since you live out of state. I believe it says on their site that they take traveling expenses off of your tattoo cost as well, but ask about that when/if you call.
I had an idea when I went to get mine, and some aspects of it he said he could work with and others wouldn't turn out so well, so he took my thoughts and when I came back for my appt. he had something drawn up that was way more then I could have come up with, but still incorporated some of my ideas and still had the overall meaning I was going for.
Anyway, good luck and again, sorry to hear about your mom. The tattoo should be something you come up with , bottom line

My girlfriends mom passed away not to long ago so both my girl and I went to get tattoos in memory of her. She was a HUGE Dale Earnhardt fan so in memory of her we got number 3's with her name and dates around it. My girlfriend got angel wings put on her 3 and I put checkerd flags behind mine cause she always told me she would come watch me race...but unfortiantly...she never got to.
