i can no officially settle this

1997 neon DOHC v 1999 Tib

and the winner is

97 neon by 1 1/2 car lengths woooo hoo

ok ok the story its true its true

i'm at school tonight studying and were all leaving and one guy in my class goes to his car and its a tib (i'm like dammm gota see what he has) so we end up talking yada yada yada tell him about teamsr.org and the post(you should have a new member in the ontario group soon), i think he knew i would beat him cause he said he raced a newer neon and got smoked

so we take a run at it....from one light to the other about a block and a 1/2 thats it i wanted to get home alive so only one run

just so you guys know my neon is a 97 automatic 2door (NO MODS) vs a tib with no mods either automatic

line up and i took him right from the start no b.s......pulled away and all is saw were those funky looking lights

here is a pic of my car nothing special not even an exhaust just all looks

ltr richard

so the battle between an auto neon an and auto tib the neon wins and i'm pretty sure the neon stick will take the tib any day

p.s. I AM NOT TRYING TO START ANYTHING NOR DOES NEONCANADA CONDONE SUCH ACTIVITY AS STREETRACING - KEEP IT ON THE TRACK

Good Job Richard..... I think that none of us would be offended by your post..... probably just a little upset that we weren't the ones driving the tib. wink.gif

Ah well, either way..... drive safe.

i'd like to add a few specs to this discussion!

'95-'99
SOHC Neons are 132HP, 128ft/lbs
DOHC and R/T Neons are 150HP, 132ft/lbs
ACR's were SOHC or DOHC, liteweight and had adjustable KONI's, swaybars direct from dodge.
a litely modded DOHC will run a low 15.. mid to high 15's in a SOHC.

'00-'02
LE, others, 132HP, 128 ft/lbs
R/Ts 150HP, 138ft/lbs
note: 2nd gen ones are way heavier and slow. (mid 16's)

the SRT had 2 models as concept cars, 1 was supercharged, the other turbocharged, well news is that the SRT is going into production in 2003! 2.4l Turbo, 230HP, 218ft/lbs.. Gonna give them V6 tibbys a good run

its all good, were all underdogs in the SC community wink.gif

Well....I think if it came down to standard tranny VS. standard tranny...it would probably be all on the drivers. by the way....the link to your pic didn't work! wink.gif

actually erikgsi is partially right, mid 90's when the neon first came out it was dodge's fastest car 2nd to the viper. and the ACR on slicks could pull over 1g on the skidpad.

the only way to tell an ACR without seeing the suspension is they had fog light holes in the front bumper with no fog lights.
