Default so, uh, we're goin' to war

in my opinion...
[*]saddam is fvcked[*]his army is fvcked[*]we whooped is a$$ is the gulf war[*]the military we had in the gulf war wouldn't stand a chance against the military we have now[*]from what i've seen about our technology now, we can fight most of this war without ever leaving the ground[*]saddam is fvcked[/list]now, i could be wrong about some of the things i've said. i claim to be no expert (hence, my preface to the list), so if you have a retort, do it in a civilized manner. smile.gif i can't wait to read redzman's post.

i think we're gonna have one hell of a time trying not to kill civilians, and trying to avoid chemical/biological attacks.....other than that, it's not hard.....

I wish there could have been more support from our allies on this. I don't know much about the world or politics but I have this view.....the people in Wahington are elected by us. I put faith in them that they know what they are doing. They could never get away with invading a country and going to war over a hunch. They have to have something strong to stand on to warrant this type of action. There is more at stake here than just Iraq, there are the men an women over there putting their lives at risk. I seriously doubt Bush would risk his own career and military based on a grudge with Sadaam.

Why Sadaam won't comply is beyond me. We wiped his military out when he invaded Kuwait and I can guarantee they are still recovering from that. Add on that fact that our military has advanced significantly since then and you've got an even bigger problem. Sadaam must have some big balls to stand up to the US and it's allies like he is.

I pray for three things....civilian and US casualties are slim to none,

this is over with ASAP,

and for fvcks sake, our country had better welcome our soldiers back.

I dissagree with going to war. I agree with France and Russia and believe it is a mistake. But since we're going to war, I pray for the saftey of our men. RedZ, you still in Korea?

Well, its not war just yet, although I don't think there is any way that Sadaam will just leave, so war is pretty close... I agree with most of what Bush said tonight, I think he's making the right choice. And maybe when its all over with the new government will be more friendly to my wallet by making the gas prices back to normal.

bryfx. you may not like the president. you may think he's a dullard, and he may not be the brightest bulb on the tree. however, he doesn't just come up with this ****. i think our president has a great administration, with several very intelligent people there to advise him. cheney, powell, and rumsfeld are all VERY sharp guys. yes, i definately don't want any iraqi (or any other) civilians killed. neither do i want any of our soldiers killed. however, if saddam's army wants to resist, that's their problem, and they have to deal with the biggest and best army in the world. the president told the iraqi army not to obey saddam. i hope they heed his words. furthermore, i'm confident that our military is prepared for what biological/chemical weapons the iraqi military might use, and i like i said, i don't think we'll have many soldiers at risk of these weapons. from what the military lets the discovery science channel report on the advancements and weponry of our military, we can fight this mainly from the ground, many miles away from the battle field. i'm sure the iragis have some technology, but i doubt it can rival ours. and i am praying for our soldiers, even in lieu of how great our military is. war isn't a good thing, but neither is saddam and what he's doing to the iraqi people. even if you don't like the president, since it's all going down, we might as well support him and pray for our soldiers.

:edit:
that's another thing. i forgot which it is, but we either get 8% or none of our oil from iraq. we were talking about that in my econ classes. i wish people would stop equating rising fuel prices with war with iraq. the rising fuel prices are partly because of a self-fulfilling prophecy, and the fact that sellers can play off of consumers' paranoia.

Get this: the Philippine government supports the US in their war in Iraq. The president (GMA) is a biatch. Impeach Gloria! smile.gif

Why make war with Iraq? Because they have some weapons of mass destruction? I think the US has a HELL of a lot more of those puppies than what Iraq has. And what is the fvcking deal with Bush in a hurry to bomb Saddam's *** ? wiggle_m The ******* wants to bomb without the UN's approval. What a war freak. He does not believe in democracy, I think. And UK's prime minister, another *******. His people do not want a war, but nooooo, he takes sides with George Wiener Bush.

AAAAHHHHH, that felt better. tongue.gif

Why should the other countries of the world react any different than the US in the early part of the century? I'm not a history buff by any means, so I may be blowing hot air out of some oriface here, but from what I recall, it took Pearl Harbour for the US to step into WWII, and I vaugly recall them entering WWI kinda late too (this could be faint memory of a game of risk!)

When the Iraqi's bomb Halifax harbour, I am sure my opinion will change. wink
