So now that Obama has taken over our major industries, banks and soon healthcare...
What's next? Food supplies? Energy companies? Entertainment/media?

Ask anyone who has stock in those banks and major industries that were "taken over" if they think letting them collapse was a good idea. What he did was anything but socialism. He gave them all our money with NO STRINGS ATTACHED. Any other investor with that kind of investment would have taken over and changed the name.
Media is doing a good job killing themselves. Blockbuster just told investors that they're preparing a bankruptcy filing. Energy companies on the other hand are making record profits by charging us whatever they feel like because we have no alternatives. It would be nice if there was more control of our food supplies. We have unregulated Chinese produce coming into this country with "organic" labels and no proof that these products are actually organic. Without government intervention, no company would ever do ANYTHING that didn't increase the bottom line.

No alternative? Are you kidding me? Where have you been in the last 20 years?
Solar panels and solar water systems are your alternative. How about giving up the 2 biggest energy hogs: Dryer and TV! Read a book and air dry your laundry. The rest is easily fed by solar energy.
I have my boat fed on a single $75 panel with 2 deepcells. Runs all my LED lights, radio, etc. If I was near the coast, I'd have a wind turbine.
I have a sailboat because I refuse to put up with the maintenance and gas prices related to a powerboat.
Water bill too expensive for you? Create your own rainwater collection and filtration system. I built one in school. Easy and cheap. If we can do it here in Texas with much less rainfall, then you can do it anywhere else. There's even a DIY on the Texas Gov't site.
Organic? Grow it in your backyard! Oh look, free food AND a hobby. Like fishing and boating at the same time? Mmmm, more free food and fresh air.
I swear, this country has become too dependant on companies. It's what they want! Babies sucking on teh tit.
