Just wondering who here thinks we should rebuild the trade centers?
Alot of peeps think we should because as America..we stand tall and don't let anything bring us down. While other's think it's wrong to rebuild over a graveyard, and we should only have a memorial there.
What are your opinions? As for mine...I'm stuck in the middle. I think there should just be a memorial only, but at the same time...we can't show any weakness to the bastards that did this.

As much as I think a memorial would be nice I don't think this piece of property would be solely dedicated as a memorial. We are probably talking about one of the most valuable pieces of realty in the world. I think we'll see what Tunez said. There will probably be a split. But like the Fire Chief of New York said. If they do decide to rebuild who would want to occupy the building? I wouldn't!!!
From what I've read, the corporate owners of the Trade Center fully intend to rebuild. It's an enormous complex, surely there will be a memorial within the site, but I think that the idea of turning the entire area into a memorial is irrational.
And, as others said, rebuilding also makes a statement. You can take our buildings, you can take our planes, you can take our citizens, but you can never take our spirit. Asshole.

I think that they should rebuild it/them. I'm not a big one for "memorials". Anyone who needs/wants/desires a memorial can have one anywhere anytime they want by just remembering those who perished. Either that, or they can visit the site of the new WTC and remember what WAS there.
Here's an idea for the rebuild...

I would think that a rebuild is almost inevitable. If nothing else, it would be a symbol.
I'd bet on there being a list of names in the foyer of the victims of the Sept 11 attack. It would probably cover a large percentage of the foyer wall space.

They should build them bigger then before. They should make them the tallest buildings in the world. By doing this it would be making a statement letting terrorists know that you may knock us down but you can't keep us down and we will only come back stronger then before.
One of the people in KORE forums had a very good point.
