Real talk. Why is American culture so hypocritical?
batboy will have a valid argument when me and the guys at the office kick in his door and put an M4 in his face for talking bad about the government. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I can't believe this has not turned into a flame war by now...... HKC you're stupid, and I hate the things you like.
You're welcome.
You're welcome.
I love the 1980s when we ranked number one in education! (source:

HyundaiKitCoupe, I think you need to move away from D.C. itself..
I'm going to eventually. It's absolutely nuts. There's so much corruption it's not funny. There are contract deals taxing the public that are only made for subsidizing profits, or making up for lack of revenue in other departments (on a scale you can't possibly imagine), and the voting system is rigged in the counties all over here: http://www.cnn.com/2011/11/18/politi...html?hpt=hp_c1 just watch the video, let it speak for itself while I leave the room.
I don't have to say it, just pick up ANY book on sociology (particularly American) from the library FOR FREE, it'll really open up your mind. The occupy movement may have its loonbags, but there are intelligent people running it and statistically it has grounds.
I'm not arguing or believing in anything. Statistics speak for themselves (2:00 mark):

You are paying for most of these statistics right out of your own paycheck through social security and government block grants that were signed into law and you don't even know it. The bigger the % is, the more you are taxed in order to compensate (funding for welfare services, free medicaid/medicare benefits, teen pregnancies for high school dropouts...etc) (sources: CDC.gov, SSA.gov, HHS.gov).

^if anyone gets a chance, read Garrett Hardin's "Tragedy of the Commons".
Very well said. The people should not be afraid of the government. The government should be afraid of the people.
People support conflict overseas, but are in the complete dark on our internal problems. The reality of it is that by supporting conflicts, we are hurting ourselves. That's what this Occupy movement is about. It points out police brutality and corruption. What's wrong with that?
Come to beautiful Baltimore. You've got colonial ships, Hard Rock Cafe, the Baltimore aquarium...
I dare you to go a couple of blocks over in any direction. Would you if you knew it was the murder capitol of the United States? (Mind you, that photo is by daytime).

I've been there. I have respect for the protesters.
Who is the bigger patriot--the one that desires to repair his own country to the best it can be, or one who disregards the country's staggering poverty and faltering education rates? I've met people that call themselves patriots and put flags on their homes but they know nothing about the history of their own country.
Not everyone overseas wants western capitalist ideology because "peace" isn't really peace. On television you see Hilary smiling with President Aquino III, but you don't see her convoy getting roughed up with eggs
Half of Indonesia and the Pacific don't want anything to do with America even though our own President was raised there. Is it so bad to show these things, or is it simply real? I get the idea that reality is not tolerated here... Because we pretend we don't have our own problems. Aren't we supposed to be examplesetters as one of the highest developed nations? Are we just going to let the rest of the world leap ahead? It seems like that's where we are going.
Its not American culture, its the demons that run her and frankly most people are sick of them. I love America, but the pricks that run it are running her into the ground. We cant afford to continue are occupations oversees just to protect corparate interests. Are soldiers are being used for this BS and im sick of are brothers and sisters dying while the most corrupt orcastrate the world we live in.
