You know my CEO, masonic steeze, cheese

Only little people pay all these taxes and fees

Since you were born we control what you watch and you read

And pretty soon we're gonna own the fuckin' air that you breathe

I take what I want, f*cker, I don't have to say please

I convince you that it's good for you, take it and leave

You think President's are a face of a nation

I put 'em all were they are, end of the conversation.

I had a hunch about this long ago! I noticed a while back they always air promotional programs on the History or Discovery channel months before a film of the same topic is on only to pitch people to go see the movies.

I've been wanting to cancel my Cable TV for years now b/c there's simply NOTHING on, maybe an interesting program on the Egyptian civilization and whatnot... the rest is all crap waste of time and reality nonsense.

Well, duh. Hasn't anyone else noticed that when channel surfing the TV or radio, all the stations play ads at the same time? This isn't random.

It's at least as bad in Australia. From wikipedia:

11 of the 12 capital city daily papers are owned by either Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation or by John Fairfax Holdings.

In my state, there is 'the west australian', 'the sunday times' and 'the australian'. These papers are all owned by News Corp.

I don't even bother with TV and radio any more. I clasp my hands over my ears and sing through ad breaks.

Sorry but to me that sounds like a whinning plea for urban music to be accepted. That is a biased article from an urban music website that doesnt like the fact that top 40 station exist. If there was a demand for uruban music there would be channels. I hate top 40, but I won't put my biased opinion of the fact that I enjoy pink floyd and wished it was on the radio all the time, printed somewhere on the internet. Get over this anti big business scocialist crap.

And don't you (other people reading this) dare call me close minded. I am a moderate christian, a fiscal conservative and very open minded. Pink floyd's opinions and musical expression go against EVERY thread of my thinking. But I will never ignore true artisctic genious. When my son hears it I plainly explain that very point and I hope he grows up to be as open minded as I am. Roger Waters was on television 2 nights agao and clearly made his points including there is no God...do I agree with that, no. Their music is artwork. But "urban" music is so full of computerized melodies and drum machines and... voice distortions so that a bad singer can sound like a pop star, that it is insulting.

I'm so sick of people saying it's big business and jews and governments that run this world. If people DIDNT WANT TOP FORTY MUSIC STATIONS THEY WOULDN'T EXIST!

my 2 cents

how many times have you seen a teenager say...oooh oohh that's my jam or thats my song? How many times do they love to hear it over and over on the radio. They enjoy it. Period

sorry today is my first day witout a cigarette or alcohol. Kinda trin to turn my life around today so I.m a little moody

oh and half of my music collection is rap and artists like medeski martin and wood. the rest is classic rock and alternative and a few eccentric items like Cibo Matto...gotta love I know my chicken

oh and DJ Honda is my favorit club DJ style hip hop artist

Urban music? Where did that come from?

This article is pointing out the monopolisation of broadcasting companies: the papers, radio, TV and news. I would say that it is financially attractive for the radio stations to select their playlists from a recommended set of songs from EMI/WMG/sony.

Nobody I know actually enjoys listening to Ke$ha, Bieber or Nicki Minaj. It is at best party music.

silvershark, you are on a roll today!! here and on the Veloster forums.. haha..

Relating to this article though, pretty amazing the sorta monopoly created. I don't pay attention to much mainstream news or watch live TV anymore so most of this doesn't really bother me anymore.
