The Passion of the Christ
Ok, quick question for those who have seen it. What do you think about a 12 year old's class going to see it? They are going on a field trip to see it, should we let her go?....we were going to see it ourselves but not sure if she should see it yet or is it not that bad?
well.. it is very gory.... and yes very gory... and that is how the crux. was..... He took the most pain for our gain... and that is what is being told thru the blood and the cross..... i would take her with you first to see it... that way you can explain what is goin on and why all the events are happening, then when she has had the knowledge she can go with her class... i mean i have more or even equal gore in a movie on several occasions...... just remember.. the movie is not about the amount of blood that the viewers see, but who's blood is truly being seen... and what He did...
A WOMAN DIED, that is crazy, obviously it can stir some emotions, i will be going to see it, as for any religous things, i am christan, but i tend not to like to stir the pot with regards to religoin, too meny people get it all confused and get angry, secondly it is a movie, so take it for what it means to you and your own beliefs...

I would do as supermanshark said, take her with you first. Then she can see it with her class. I think the only way I would let her go with a class is if it is a church school and there are plenty of chaperones.

I saw it tonight, Wow! I have studied out the passion, through the Bible, and also through doctors accounts of crucifixion. This movie hit it dead on! I would watch it before you bring your kids to it. They may become restless since the movie is in Aramaic. They would have to read the subtitles, and often kids have difficulty with that.

Being 12 years old I could see them having trouble reading the subtitles... and about the "gory" factor, I think it depends heavily on the person, their relationship and knowledge about what Christ went through, and the movies they've seen in the past. I think the "gore" feeling we get comes mostly from knowing the tremendous amount of pain it included. I've seen several horror movies that had more blood and gore than this movie, but for a 12 year old, I think it depends heavily on the individual child. A 13 year old went with the group I was with, and was fine (cried of course but was fine).... however, I'm having doubts as to whether I should take my non-Christian sister (15 yrs. old) see it. She believes in Jesus but isn't saved and has very little knowledge. She wants to go, so I'm almost 100% sure I'll take her

If she shows intrest, you sould take her. Even if she is not a Christian it is still an educational movie. No matter what religion you are, it has been proven that Jesus was at least a real man. I have been a practicing Celt for ten years and do not follow the general Christian doctrine, I can still respect it and it's followers and I thought the movie was wonderful.
