Okay, none of this PS3 vs. Xbox 360 shit, just wanted to let everyone know that didn't, that MS officially put the word out.
The Xbox 360 is backwards compatible.
That's right, Halo2 will live FO EVA!!!
Only rumor going around about it is that you will have to have the 20G HDD to use it, probably because it will be an emulator program on the drive.

Also, the Customized Faceplates are a FACT, and looks like there will be a kit for the controllers also.
Another interesting thing I think some of you guys might have missed. The 20G HDD is REMOVABLE, it pops right off the side. That's right, you can take your whole thing with you to plug in at your friends house. Or plug in a 120 Gig drive. Or 200. Whatever. Not to mention, now I don't have to get that Linksys Media Center to play movies off my PC in my living room. The 360 will do it.
I can't friggin wait.

they have a site out there to pre-order your free xbox 360 from the site that is giving the Ipods away, I'm signed, we can start a conga for this if everyone likes.

na, we have to set a limit to the congas, not to many once. just constrate on getting a couple things at a time, if you ask me. and ya i would expect ti to be backwards compatible, i mean the ps3 so i could see microsoft doing the same.
oh and screw ffxi(dumb monthly fees), i want ffxii which comes out soon!!!!!

I doubt they'll have monthly connection fees for FFXI for the Xbox.

I thought I made a post in this topic... guess I didn't.
For the record, I'm buying a Xbox 360 on release day.
I'm hoping that Full Auto is out on release day, because it looks awesome. Same thing for Gears of War.
Right now those are the only two games I'm "impressed" with.
I'll have to try out the new Live to see if I like it, I'm hoping it's not something like $100 a year for it.
I just wish the machine was solid black or silver, then it would match the rest of my componets in my entertainment center. Guess I'll be one of the people buying a faceplate for it.

jvx, you could always spraypaint it... I've seen plenty of people that have taped it off like a car and put down a few coats on it.
Either way, I'll probably buy one once the prices go down. If I can ever get my broadband to work, I could probably really enjoy the online part of XBox.

What's Full Auto? Gears of War looks IMPRESSIVE. There are quite a few games out there I'm looking forward to, but the visual upgrades on Halo 2 should be fantastic. I'm hoping they do another Mercenaries game, and am looking forward to Serious Sam II, I've been waiting for that forever.

From what I read the pricing will be the same, but Silver will be free Live on the weekends and some other stuff.

It will. FFXI is hurting for people now that EQ2 and WoW are out. Not that much of a shock that it porting over. Its good that you can play X-box 1 game on it. Would have been a shock if you could'nt.
