My whole family and I decided to stop with the usual "useless" gift giving, and buy Christmas for a family who really needs it. The Salvation Army does an adopt a family for Christmas program that we have proudly taken on this year. All we're doing for each other is having dinner together being happy that another family gets to enjoy themselves when they otherwise wouldn't have had the chance.

Right? They have a 13 year old son that they were about to tell he couldn't have Christmas this year because they needed the money to stay afloat! Dad lost his job in the beginning of the whole insurance downfall last December. Both parents have been picking up part time work wherever they can to keep the house from forclosure. I almost wish I could help more, but Christmas seemed to be a huge relief on mom and dads shoulders (as far as the kids are concerned), so i'm thankful we could at least give them that!
